Brief Intro from our CEO

I am…an Empowered Woman! However, I was not always empowered. In the journey called life, I have witnessed violence, alcoholism, envy, anger, pain, rejection, and so much more. As an immigrant, Latina, survivor, and a “dreamer”, I became passionate with social justice issues, such as, women’s rights, mental health in the LatinX community, racial equity, domestic violence, and women’s empowerment.

Due to my trauma narrative, I decided to heal my wounds and help other along the way by becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida (License # MH 15611) and qualified supervisor. I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at St. Thomas University Miami, FL and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s in Arts in Mental Health Counseling.

I have been blessed with the opportunities to practice as a clinician and middle management in behavioral health and non-profit agencies with various populations ranging from children, adolescents, young adults, and adults in the clinical and managerial setting. If you are someone looking for free services as a survivor of domestic violence in Florida, please check out the following website to find the nearest certified agency near you https://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/domestic-violence/map.shtml

Areas of specialty include: domestic violence, child abuse, transitioning to college, child behavioral concerns, anxiety management, and substance abuse.

If I am not seeing a patient for counseling, I am guiding and empowering individuals and families achieve financial freedom through an individualized plan of action as a financial consultant. Or, I am be providing a training to our community or educating/engaging our community as a public speaker with appearances in NPR, Crime Time with Dr. Debbie, and University settings.

Here at Empowered Woman, we are open to collaborations, consulting work, and partnerships in business.
